Sharing my Missha Time Revolution The First Essence 5x review! This will tell you everything you need to know about this “miracle” product.
I’ve been such a long-time fan of Missha skincare and I’m excited to share my review of their Time Revolution The First Essence 5x today. This is their fifth-generation version of the essence.
Better than the previous versions, it packs in even simpler ingredients, yet has even more powerful hydration, firmness, and brightness, thanks to their use of 97% Desert Cica Yeast Ferment.
As soon as I tried it, it became part of my daily skincare routine and consistent go-to product. Also, it’s one of the most beautiful mid-luxury essences I’ve ever tried.
If you’re looking for a new toner or essence for your beauty regime, keep reading and you will learn everything you need to know about the Missha Time Revolution The First Essence 5x.

About My Skin: Normal to Dry and Occasional Breakout
While my skin is between normal and dry, it’s definitely on the drier side during the winter months, especially here in New York.
I’m also no stranger to the occasional breakout when my skin is dehydrated. So my main skin concerns are removing dryness, improving skin texture, and keeping my skin clear.
I have a few acne scars, but they’re not too obvious as they’ve faded over time. I prefer my skin care routine to be hydrating and soothing.
Missha Time Revolution The First Essence 5X Key Ingredients
Niacinamide – helps your skin look and feel healthier, restores skin’s natural support system, and stimulates collagen production of smoother, firmer skin.
Ceramide NP – works to hydrate skin and support its crucial protective moisture barrier.
Desert Cica Yeast Ferment – It’s a mixture of flavonoids, sugars, vitamins, and amino acids that contain a high concentration of antioxidants. This ingredient thoroughly balances and moisturizes dehydrated skin, tone uneven or dull skin, softens fine lines and reduces the visible signs of aging.

How to Use Missha Time Revolution The First Essence 5X: Toner + Essence
You can use this essence a number of ways, either as a toner or as an essence for morning and night. Missha recommends applying it on clean skin by using a cotton pad and to wipe gently across on the face.
My favorite way to use this is just as an essence after applying my toner. To add more hydration for my dry skin, I normally layer it multiple times and my skin looks more glowy and smoother.
I use this day or night, it’s perfect anytime when my skin feels dry and it is easy to incorporate and switch it in or out of your skincare routine. It has a watery consistency with a good dry down so it works well under makeup too.
The Results: Hydration, Glow, and Smoother Skin Texture
Seeing results will take time and consistent use, but I soon noticed this essence perfectly fit my skin.
It is a great hydrating toner/essence to help moisturize dehydrated skin, smoother texture, and makes it feel dewy and healthy. The texture is just like water, it feels like applying water on skin, absorbs quickly, and dries down to a natural finish without a sticky or shiny feel.
It works well layered under my ampoule and moisturizer too. I normally incorporate the COSRX Propolis Light Ampoule and Physiogel DMT Facial Cream to help with extra hydration.
But when it comes to its anti-aging ability, I don’t really see the results. While it does contain the ingredients, like Yeast Extract and Niacinamide, that works for firmness, it probably won’t visibly reduce wrinkles.
The Value: Reasonable
While there are cheaper options out there, $54 (at Missha US), currently 30% off, for a clean, hydrating essence isn’t too bad. The product comes in a 5.07 fl oz bottle and it’s enough to use for around one or two months.
I really love its formula, lightweight texture, no scent, and it delivers on the promise of comforting hydration. So, I think it’s worth the price.
From time to time, Missha US offers a huge discount, so it makes this product even worthy.
The Bottom Line: Missha Time Revolution The First Essence 5x
Overall, I really love Missha Time Revolution The First Essence 5x. It gives my skin that hydrating, dewy, healthy feeling without increasing shine, plus it does a great job at smoothing my skin’s texture.
I am really amazed at how well it works as a toner/essence for dehydrated skin too. As long as your skin is fine at using fermented ingredients, I highly highly recommend you try this one.
