5 Best Korean Lip Balms
Here are 5 of my favorite Korean lip balms that I have purchased over and over again and recommend to my friends and family!
1. Clear Lip Balm (Stick): Innisfree Canola Honey Lip Balm
- Innisfree Canola Honey Lip Balm ($8, at YesStyle, $7 at Style Korean)
I bought the Innisfree Canola Honey Lip Balm recently and was pleasantly pleased.
It’s a nice, basic hydrating lip balm stick that moisturizes my lips intensely. Also, it’s lightweight and has a honey scent, but it isn’t too annoying. It’s neither sticky nor waxy. I think it makes for a great unisex option, too.
It’s a clean formula with Jeju canola honey, Jeju canola oil, jojoba oil, and sweet almond oil. The canola honey is hydrating, and the canola oil (and other oils) seals in all of that moisture. Both do a great job!
I normally use it during the day whenever my lips feel dry. This is my favorite lip balm stick that I’ve tried so far, and I would highly recommend giving it a try.
2. Clear Lip Balm: Frudia Blueberry Hydrating Honey Lip Balm
- Frudia Blueberry Hydrating Honey Lip Balm ($6 at YesStyle, $9 at Style Korean, $6 at Amazon)
Frudia Blueberry Hydrating Honey Lip Balm is another good clear lip balm option that comes in a tiny pot.
It has a creamy texture and is very moisturizing with a natural glow.
It has a sweet, yet subtle blueberry scent (like it!) and is not sticky or overly glossy. It’s lightweight and hydrating but does the job at fixing dry patches, too.
The main ingredients are honey and blueberry extract, which nourish and protect skin effectively.
I prefer to use it as a nighttime lip care product, and I wish it was in a tube, but the little jar is still so cute.
3. Tinted Lip Balm: Wakemake Vitamin Watery Tok Tinted Lip Balm
- Wakemake Vitamin Watery Tok Tinted Lip Balm ($9 at YesStyle)
Many beauty lovers rave about the Wakemake Vitamin Watery Tok Tinted Lip Balm, so I decided to give it a try, and I am thoroughly impressed. I’ve kinda fallen in love with this tint after using it just once.
It’s a really nice hydrating balmy tint that feels moisturizing without being thick. I picked 02 Glowing Red, and the pigment is really natural on me, giving the right amount of flush.
There’s no detectable scent, and it lasts like a regular lip balm. The finish is shiny, but not too much. Available in four colors, you’ll find them at YesStyle.
4. Best Lip Mask: Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask
Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask in Berry has been my long-time lip care favorite as I feel other brands may have better formulas, but this was really nice.
This mask has a supple, hydrating texture that feels incredibly comforting on the lips. The scent is subtle yet delicious, making it a treat to use.
The formula includes vitamin C, antioxidants, and exclusive Moisture Wrap™ technology, which works to eliminate stubborn dead skin cells and create a protective barrier over the lips.
I’m a fan of using this mask both at night and during the day, and I especially appreciate the tiny spatula that comes with it for easy application.
All in all, Laneige’s Lip Sleeping Mask in Berry is a must-try for anyone in search of a high-quality lip care product.
5. Best Overall: Sidmool Jojoba Lip Essence
Last but not least, I picked the Sidmool Jojoba Lip Essence for the best overall Korean lip balm.
Mainly because I’ve been reaching out to this product the most among the list. It comes in a tube, which is easy to use and perfect for carrying around.
It has jojoba seed oil that moisturizes the lips intensively. When I apply it overnight, my lips become soft and supple the next morning.
It glides on my lips smoothly but is not too shiny or sticky. It has a very light citrus scent, which is amazing.
Definitely one of the best Korean lip balms I’ve ever tried. I bought this product on Stylevana, and I think it’s hard to find it on other websites. If you’re interested in trying it out, click here to browse.
Korean Lip Balms: FAQ
1. How Often Should Korean Lip Balms Be Reapplied?
When it comes to how frequently to apply Korean lip balms, the best advice is to listen to your own lips and apply as needed.
If your lips become dry or chapped, apply lip balm as needed to keep them moisturized and comfortable. Some people may require lip balm multiple times per day, while others may only require it once or twice.
It’s important to remember that using lip balm too frequently can cause dryness and dependence on the product. Instead, use it sparingly and as needed for the best results.
2. Can Korean Lip Balms Be Used Year-Round?
Korean lip balms can be used year-round, not just during the winter months. However, the specific type of lip balm you choose may vary depending on the season and your individual needs.
During the winter months, when the air is drier and colder, thicker and more hydrating lip balms may be more effective at preventing chapped lips.
In the summer, when the air is more humid and temperatures are higher, lighter and more refreshing lip balms may be more comfortable to use.
Ultimately, the best Korean lip balm for you will depend on your individual preferences and needs.
Wrap Up
To sum it up, I think Korean lip balms are an absolute must-have for anyone looking to keep their lips healthy and hydrated, especially during the dry winter months.
With so many amazing options available, it can be tough to know where to start, but I hope my personal recommendations have been helpful.
From the classic favorite, Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask, to the innovative formulas of Innisfree’s Lip Treatment Balm, there’s a Korean lip balm out there for everyone.
Whatever your lip concerns or preferences, I recommend you give these products a try and see for yourself just how transformative they can be!
