What Are Korean Men’s Hairstyles?
Hair trends change and evolve all the time, and Korean hairstyles for men are no exception. However, certain hairstyles, cuts, and colors continue to be popular and widely worn by Koreans.
Generally speaking, Korean men’s hairstyle trends have been led by Korean actors and idols. If you like K-drama or K-pop, you’ve probably seen certain hairstyles on your favorite actors or singers. These hairstyles are light and soft, with layers and loose curls that can make you look more natural and polished.
Korean Men’s Hairstyle Trends
I’ve noticed a shift in Korean men’s hair trends because of the ongoing pandemic, the emergence of gender-fluidity, and the throwback ’90s appeal. The following are the most popular Korean men’s hairstyles that I’ve seen on many Koreans.
1. Two-Block Korean Men’s Hairstyles
Korean two block hairstyles have been popular for a long time, and I’ve discovered that they’re still worn with a variety of haircuts and styles.
As the name implies, the Korean two block haircut has the sides of the head trimmed or shaved (right and left, hence the two) while leaving the top long and styled as desired.
If you shaved only one side, it’s called a one-block haircut, and if you shaved your sides and back, it’s called a three-block haircut in Korea.
This hairstyle is similar to an undercut in that the back and sides of the head are shaved very short.
2. Short, Soft Perm With Middle Parted Korean Men’s Hairstyles (As Perm)
While heavy and thick hairstyles, such as the Dandy Cut, have been popular for a while, as the pandemic continues, Korean men’s hairstyles have become lighter.
The As Perm, a basic haircut with loose, wavy bangs and a bit of a middle part, is currently the most popular hairstyle for men. This is an excellent option for those who prefer soft, polished hairstyles while wearing a mask.
3. Medium Length Layered Korean Men’s Hairstyles (Leaf Cut)
The Leaf Cut is another popular Korean men’s hairstyle. This haircut, inspired by Korean women’s hairstyles such as curtain bangs, is when the front hair is parted in the center and styled with textured waves to the sides.
This style is ideal for framing the face and achieving a distinct look that appears effortlessly tousled.
4. Korean Men’s Retro Hairstyles (‘90s)
With the return of ’90s fashion comes the return of ’90s hairstyles. I’ve discovered many Korean men’s hairstyles inspired by a cool ’90s vibe, raining from short haircuts with high fade (Ivy League Cut) to slicked-back haircuts to grunge (curtain) hairstyles.
45+ Best Korean Hairstyles & Haircuts for Men
Finally, here is a list of over 65 of the most popular Korean hairstyle and haircut ideas!
Best Korean Haircuts for Men
1. Thick Blunt Bangs (Dandy Cut)
The Dandy Cut has been super popular for a long time before the pandemic. This is a short haircut with longer bangs that fall below the brows. Ideal for those with a large forehead who want to look younger.
2. Dandy Cut With Thin Bangs (See Through Dandy Cut)
Following the pandemic, the Dandy Cut became lighter with thinner bangs, which are referred to as “see-through bangs” in Korean women’s bang hairstyles. This look gives you a modern and trendy feel while wearing a mask.
3. Short Haircuts With High Fade (Ivy League Cut)
The Ivy League Cut, inspired by the hairstyles of Ivy League students in the 1990s, is a very short haircut with a high fade that is ideal for those who prefer a simple look.

4. Messy Cropped Top & Low Fade (Regent Cut)
Korean regent hairstyles are more likely to be modern and soft. This is a haircut that features textured crops on the top of the hair while cutting the back and sides into a low fade.

5. Short French Crop (Crop Cut)
This haircut combines a traditional cropped cut with various types of short fringe. The top of the French crop is fuller than the buzz cut.

6. Side Part With One Side Falling Fringe (Guile Cut)
The Gulie Cut is currently the most popular haircut in Korea. This hairstyle combines a side part and a side-swept fringe. You can use your natural hairline and hair growth pattern to make it easier.

7. Medium Length Layered Cut (Leaf Cut)
This haircut, inspired by Korean women’s hairstyles such as side bangs, is when the front hair is parted in the center and styled with textured waves to the sides.

8. Korean Wolf Cut Hairstyles for Men
If you want to try a more adventurous look, the wolf cut could be a good choice. This is a hairstyle that has a lot more volume at the front and top of your head and gradually thins out and has a lot less volume down the end.

9. Korean Two Block Haircut (Kpop Hairstyles)
The Korean two-block haircut, as the name suggests, has the sides of the head trimmed or shaved while leaving the top long and styled as desired. This haircut is best known for its use in K-pop hairstyles, as many idols have worn it with various styles such as the Two Block Dandy Cut, Two Block Shadow Perm, and others.

Best Korean Hair Perms for Men
1. Korean Soft Perm (Shadow Perm)
If you have the Dandy Cut, mix it up with the Shadow Perm. To achieve the look, keep your fringe longer and add textures that create shadow on the face.

2. Korean See Through Volume Perm
“See-through bangs,” also known as Korean wispy bangs, are no longer popular hairstyles for women. With these thin bangs with a twist, you’ll look more modern and soft.

3. Middle Part With Curtain Bangs (Garma Perm)
The Garma Perm exposes your forehead by opening up the bangs in the middle. This hairstyle is ideal for men with medium to long hair, as well as thick and textured hair.

4. Short Haircuts With Curtain Bangs (AS Perm)
After the Garma Perm got popular, Korean men’s perms looked more natural. The AS Perm gives a more effortless looking curl to your bangs that are slightly parted in the center.

5. Korean Leaf Perm Hairstyles for Men
The process of adding texture to a leaf cut is known as “leaf perming.” As previously stated, the Leaf Perm is similar to Korean women’s curtain bangs, which are extremely popular in Korean women’s hairstyles.

6. Korean Guile Perm Hairstyles for Men
If you have the Gulie Cut, you can mix it up with some textures by adding loose waves.

7. Short Curly Hairstyle (Hippie Perm)
Since many Asian men have naturally straight hair, wavy perm hairstyles are a great way to change up their appearance. You’ll need medium-length hair with longer bangs to achieve the Hippie perm.

8. Grunge Perm for Long Hair
If you have long hair and are hesitant to change your signature look, wavy long hair is a great choice to make your look stand out. It’s a classic look that can make you look stylish and professional.

Best Korean Hairstyles for Men
1. 90s Slicked-Back Haircut
One of the popular ‘90s hairstyles made a comeback: the slicked-back haircut. I’ve seen some Korean actors wear this look, and I think it adds to the ’90s cool vibe and manliness.

2. Korean Pompadours Hairstyles for Men
The pompadour is a men’s hairstyle that is similar to a comb-over. They look fantastic when combined with various fade lengths and even side parts. If you want to try this hairstyle, make sure to use the proper pomade or wax.

3. Korean Two-Block With Pompadours
With a two-block haircut, you can incorporate any style, including pompadours. This hairstyle adds sophistication and freshness to your appearance. Allow the top to grow long to achieve perfect framing.

4. Korean Comma Hairstyles for Men
The Comma is a hairstyle that has gained popularity and was inspired by the hairstyles of K-pop idols. It features fringe on one or both sides of the part, with one side curling towards the center of the face.

5. Korean Curtain Bang Hairstyles for Men
Another hairstyle inspired by the ’90s! Many K-pop artists these days have curtain bangs styles. To achieve the look, part the hair in the middle and let the fringe fall evenly on both sides of the face.

6. Korean Long Hairstyles for Men
Not into short hairstyles? Men can wear long hair in a variety of simple and adaptable ways.

3. Two-Tone Hidden Hair Colors for Men
Two-tone hair underneath complements any style and is very popular among men. Choose opposite tones of your natural hair color for the perfect highlight.

4. Korean Highlight Hairstyles for Men
Highlights for black hair make Korean men’s hairstyles stand out more. My favorite highlight color is pastel because it is subtle but noticeable against the dark hair and adds personality.

Orange hair is the new color trend that is sweeping Instagram. When exposed to direct sunlight, the color appears subdued indoors but vibrant outside.
